Miami beat Florida State 43-35 in double overtime on October 17, 2026, surviving a late Seminoles lead in wet conditions. Darian Mensah threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns, Malachi Toney caught 11 passes for 154 yards and two scores, and Miami ran for 257 yards. The discussion credits Mike Norvell for keeping Florida State in it and faults a defender for trying to intercept rather than bat down a fourth-and-21 heave.
