MSG ring phishing test

Sports · Heat 2.7 / 10 · 4 shows · 26m airtime

At the end of September 2026, Madison Square Garden emailed employees offering a complimentary personalized Knicks championship ring, with two designs to choose from, championship gold and garden classic. The email was a phishing test: those who clicked were sent to mandatory cybersecurity training and did not get real rings. Reporting has since established the email came from an MSG phishing domain, msg.phishing.com, adding a detail to how the test was run. Hosts call the test cruel but fair game.
