Angie Nixon defeated Alex Bindman in Florida's Democratic Senate primary on August 25, 2026. Since then she has said she joined DSA and the Working Families Party, took a fine and 15 hours of community service in a trespassing case, and cites a Yale study on universal health care savings. She was out-fundraised 18 to 1 in the primary, and Bernie Sanders has pledged $250,000. The polling average has Ashley Moody ahead by five to six points, though Bill Kristol calls the race basically tied. Nixon says Moody signed off on moving $10 million from Medicaid to a political fund and would support impeaching Hegseth, the cabinet and the president.
