UCLA beat Oregon on the road on October 17, 2026, under first-year coach Bob Chesney, who came from James Madison, doubling the Ducks in rushing yards and dominating time of possession. Coverage notes Chesney brought running back Wayne Knight with him from James Madison; Knight had 22 carries against Oregon. The discussion groups Chesney with Curt Cignetti and Marcus Freeman as a physical, run-first formula, notes Oregon lost offensive coordinator Will Stein to Kentucky, and argues UCLA should pay Chesney now with punitive buyout terms.
